Stock market holidays in December 2023: Stock exchanges BSE and NSE will remain shut for 11 days in December, including weekends and holidays, as we approach the end of the year. BSE and the NSE will remain closed for an additional day on December 25, Monday.
Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ and is observed on December 25. The annual festival is a religious and cultural celebration for people around the world.
Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will also remain closed for 11 days, including weekends and a holiday on December 25. MCX will remain closed for both the morning session and the evening session on December 25 and resume trading on December 26, according to its website, MCXIndia.com. MCX conducts morning sessions from 9 am to 5 pm, and evening sessions from 5 pm to 11:30/11:55 pm.
