असम के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री तरूण गोगोई का सोमवार को निधन हो गया। वे गुवाहाटी मेडिकल कॉलेज एंड हॉस्पिटल में पिछले कई दिनों से भर्ती थे। तबीयत बिगड़ने के चलते वे वेंटिलेटर पर थे। सीएम सर्बानंद सोनोवाल डिब्रूगढ़ दौरा बीच में ही छोड़ गुवाहाटी वापस लौट आए।

सीएम सोनोवाल ने ट्वीट कर जानकारी दी। गोगोई ने 86 वर्ष की उम्र में अंतिम सांस ली। प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी सहित देश के अन्य नेताओं ने उनके निधन पर शोक व्यक्त किया।
Shri Tarun Gogoi was a true Congress leader. He devoted his life to bringing all the people and communities of Assam together.
For me, he was a great and wise teacher. I loved and respected him deeply.
उल्लेखनीय है कि वे वर्ष 2001 से 2016 तक लगातार असम के मुख्यमंत्री रहे थे।
